On February 3rd 2013 the KOP team once again landed in Kenya to begin their first trip of the year to Nanyuki. Right from the off the team have indeed hit the ground running, seeing over 100 patients in clinic in the first 2 days, and 5 life changing operations have been performed already, with many more planned for the remainder of the trip.
The team are currently busy operating, seeing patients in clinic and catching up with familiar faces from previous projects, which is an extremely rewarding experience for all involved.
We were also very pleased to welcome the GRASP team who arrived in town this afternoon (tuesday 5th feb) … ready to begin the GRASP-IT training – a course which provides free training for nurses, doctors and clinical officers in recognition and assessment of sick patients!
Stay tuned for further updates on the current trip.
