The Kenya Orthopaedic Project started in 2009 with the intention to help provide trauma and orthopaedic care and teaching in the developing world. Following the success of the first mission, the team was inundated with requests for their services.
As KOP grew, the projects started diversifying into providing rural clinics to provide health and education to a wider population.
EGHO was born out of a need to encompass all the great work that the teams were providing within Kenya.
Today, EGHO functions as an umbrella body for many global health initiatives. EGHO aims to bring together people with an interest and passion in global health so that we can work together to share learning and teaching experiences in order to maximise the efforts of individuals and organisations.
